Jose Mourinho wants to support Manchester United’s defense in January
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has asked his club management to support the defense team in January, after failing to do so during the summer transfer market.
The Red Devils tried to recruit more than one defender during the summer Mercato, notably Tobi Aldervairelde, Diego Godin and Jerome Boateng. But all these attempts failed. The Portuguese coach sees that lack of quality in his defense is one of the main reasons for the team’s negative results this season.
Mourinho wants to join a young defender in the winter transfer market. Milan’s Chokniyar and AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli are on top of their list, especially after their excellent performances this season in Italy and Europe, but the task of acquiring them will never be easy. The two Italian teams and the abandonment of them will be only for a very large sum of money.
Several news reports have spoken of Mourinho’s dismissal from United’s training after the 3-2 win over Newcastle, but the club’s administration denied all the allegations. Despite this denial, however, the future of the trophy with Inter remains suspended by the team’s results in the coming period.
