Lionel Messi scored a goal against PSV Eindhoven
Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has managed to score a hat-trick against PSV Eindhoven in the Camp Nou in the Champions League group stage.
PSV Eindhoven is the 30th team to have Messi in the Champions League, and this is the first goal of a steady kick to shake PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League since Steven Gerrard’s 2008 goal.
The 31-year-old has been beaten by the 31-year-old, who has become the most accomplished goal-scoring player in the Champions League (63 goals) with a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo (60).
Messi’s first goal in the new season of the Champions League has made him the third player to score goals in 14 different seasons in the championship, only surpassed by the former Manchester United star Ryan Giggs (16 season) and striker Raul Gonzalez, former leader of Real Madrid (15)
Messi, who has scored nine goals in the Champions League, beat Ronaldo, who scored seven goals against the Dutch.
This is the eighth goal for Messi from a free kick in 2018, a number no player has ever achieved in a single year.
In the last five years, Messi has managed to score 25 goals from a free kick to Barcelona, a figure outperforming his nearest five major league rivals by 10 goals.
Messi has become the hottest player in the history of the Champions League with its modern and old system. Lionel Messi’s goals in the Champions League are equal to the number of Eindhoven goals in the competition.
