Investment in these vehicles began at the beginning of 1999 and EB 18/4 “Veyron” was a test vehicle in the same chassis as the original Chiron Concept car. The test version was exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show and was similar in design and appearance of the final Veyron car. The main difference was EB 18/4 using an eight-cylinder engine divided into three parts (boxes) and each part was six-cylinder longitudinal W18. The designer Hartmut Warkuss headed the exterior designer Jozef Kaba من from Volkswagen instead of the Italian designer Giorgetto who collected the previous three shapes in one form

Volkswagen President Ferdinand Piëch announced the production of Veyron at the Geneva Motor Show [2000]]. Has promised to be the fastest, most powerful and most expensive car in history. Instead of using the W18 engine to produce the model, the 16-cylinder VR6 / WR8-style W16 is used. For the first time in 1999, the Bentley Bentley was tested for a W16 engine and included four turbochargers with a capacity of 1001 hp and a maximum speed of 407 km / h (253 mph) at a price of € 1 million.
Throughout 2001, I upgraded the Bugatti Veyron test structure until late 2001 and Bugatti announced the car as Bugatti Veyron 16.4, which would enter production in 2003

However, the car experienced significant problems during development. It was difficult to achieve the required stability at high speed – one of the models was destroyed in an accident at the Monterey Historics, and in the Mazda race at Laguna Seca. The delegation delayed the production of Veyron pending the decision of these and other issues.
Piëch retired that year as chairman of the Volkswagen Group and was replaced by Bernd Pischetsrieder. The new president immediately sent Veyron to the hands of the experts for substantial modifications. Neumann also replaced Neumann with the new President Thomas Bscher in December 2003, and Veyron was substantially modified under the guidance of the former company engineer, chief engineer at Bugatti Wolfgang Schreiber.
Each Veyron car is sold at € 1100,000 (net price without taxes), and prices, exchange rates and local taxes (eg value added taxes) vary. United Kingdom or United States prices are more than £ 800,000, or about $ 1,600,000 .777
